Practiced Perfection – Lead Paint Safety
At Browder Painting Company, we're not just about adding a fresh coat of paint; we're about doing it safely, especially when it comes to the tricky business of lead paint. Lead paint, while not used anymore, is still lurking in older buildings, and it poses some serious health risks if not handled correctly. Small particles and paint chips from aging paint can be unknowingly inhaled or ingested by those consistently exposed to it. Over time, exposure can cause neurological, reproductive, and cardiovascular issues among other negative health effects. That's why we've doubled down on safety measures to protect everyone involved—our team, our clients, and the general public.
Homes receiving this treatment are thoroughly protected with window masking and two layers of 10-millimeter plastic on surrounding ground. Additionally, we require vacuum attachments during any power sander use to prevent the spread of particles. Our painters suit up in Tyvek suits to make sure no lead dust gets on their skin, and wear N100 respirator masks to breathe in only clean air, keeping those dangerous lead particles out. Clear signage is always present on these jobs, sectioning off and warning folks of the lead hazards present in the work area. It's all about making sure people know what's happening so they can stay safe.
Safety isn't just about gear and signs. We're big on doing things right, which means following all the rules set by organizations like the EPA and OSHA. This paired with our team’s top-notch training ensures expert service, especially on tricky jobs like these. We care about our team as much as we do about our paint jobs, we keep an eye on their health with regular check-ups. It's all part of making sure Browder Painting Company is the safest—and happiest—place to work or hire for your painting needs. So, when it comes to dealing with lead paint, we've got it all covered.
