Fence Staining Project — San Luis Obispo
Project Overview
This project focused on refreshing and protecting the home’s fencing to improve both appearance and durability. The fence had begun to show natural weathering, so the goal was to restore a clean, uniform look while helping the wood stand up better to sun and moisture.
Getting Started
The crew began with a full power wash using a wood brightening cleaner to remove dirt and reduce graying. After drying, the fence received a light sanding to smooth the surface and prepare it for stain. Surrounding pavers, stonework, and landscaping were carefully protected, and areas along the fence line were cleared so every board could be properly coated.
The Work
Once preparation was complete, the team applied a full coat of stain by brush and roller, ensuring even coverage and good penetration into the wood. This method helps enhance the natural grain while adding long-lasting protection.
Outcome
The fence now looks fresh and cohesive with the outdoor space, giving the yard a cleaner, more finished feel. The updated stain will also make future maintenance easier, helping the fence look good for years to come.
